Leak-A-Thon Part Duex

Words seem... inadequate.

The shoelace is not to stop the leak... that appears to need divine intervention.  The shoelace is to stop the Plop. Plop. Plop. sound the water makes while dripping into a bucket.  Who knew?

Here is a nice piece of information for future emergency leaks.

There is a product called a "Shark Bite" that just slips over a copper pipe and clicks in like Chinese finger-cuffs. It will attach to pex and copper size pipe so it makes for quick and easy fixes.

I keep about 4 of each size in my shop for emergencies. They come in 90's and couplings.

They aren't great for big projects because they are over $5 per fitting but they work great, especially in places you cant get a torch.

I have made repairs on my irrigation line with these without even turning off the water. Don't get me wrong, I got wet but it was raining anyway. The point is, there is no need for glue, tools or heat.
