Today, I bought chickens. Eight chickens to be exact. Four Rhode Island Reds, two Buff Orphingtons, and two Americaunas. I also bought feed, straw, and a heat lamp. I have no idea what I am doing, but it is fun so far!!! They are going to lay eggs, in my chicken coop (yet to be built), and it is going to be wonderful. Very balls out, I know.
My poor, long-suffering husband agreed to the chickens... but I don't know what he is going to say when he comes home from work today and realizes that chickens are loud. :) I don't know where we are going to put them so we can sleep at night!!!
In other news, I traded my sourdough bread to my neighbor for homemade yogurt and freezer jam. Very cool. Next week, I am hoping to trade some bread for fresh goat milk. Even cooler. Then I will make cheese. Fresh goat cheese. This is going to be a great summer!!! Balls out ladies - the gauntlet has been thrown.

I'm glad you're back! I'm jelous of the chickens! I will post on sunday or monday and we will get this rolling. Hooray!
Holy crap. That's quite a gauntlet! I'm so jealous! Also, we need pictures!
